FLV is simply a Flash Video file in container format used to send video over the internet using Adobe Flash Player in versions six through eleven. The most popular sites on the internet use FLV as their main source to send and post videos on their sites. These include YouTube, Google, Yahoo and HULU as well as most online news sources or network news on their main webpages.

If your computer does not have the right program to open these files, you should receive a message asking if you would like to search the internet for the program needed but if you have Adobe Flash player installed, all you might need is an updated version.
MOV is basically the same thing as the FLV; however, it is a different file extension and originally designed by QuickTime but can also be played on other programs such as Windows Media Player and RealPlayer. Read the rest of this entry »
